We so far what has been slotted are a few 757's, a Monarch A300 and A330. And rumour has it a Air Atlanta 747 may also be coming (since Cardiff Airport have asked airlines to use large aircraft where possible - since they feel that they will easier handle a smaller number of LARGE aricraft that a large number of SMALL aircraft). They dont was a repeat of the fiasco that happened at Cardiff last time.
As for the opening of the Terminal, various dates has been mentioned 10th May, 20th May, Middle July and 01 October. Not sure which it will be. However somewhere it mentioned that the New Terminal (T2) would be used for arrivals, and the old Terminal (T1) wold be used for departures. Would seem to be a stupid move if this were to happen ....... or would it ?
