So there you go Disco Dude...My point precisely:
"If I don't do it, somebody else will".
It's a self-fulfilling prophesy. The 20 or so unemployed sharks are ready to pounce. So what would happen if all the pilots (both employed and unemployed) in town decided "we're not gonna do it"? Hmmm, suddenly the operator is facing a shortage of pilots, and guess what? The work still has to be done. You guys insist on fair and equitable treatment. What can the operator do? Change his work practices.
I know the above is a very simplistic answer. But I know nothing even remotely like this will never happen as long as the selfish attitudes (I only have to do it until I get my xxxx hours, then I'm outta there) prevail.
P.S. If you refuse to work 65hr/7 days, some or all of the unemployed sharks would have jobs.
