As a raw newcomer to flying training, I remember in '81 drinking long into the night with John Maclean & Marcus Edwards at Sunderland Flying Club, after they'd given me a flip each, with full routine
. They could only use one of their Pittses - G-BDKS; the other being grounded with a tailwheel problem.
