Why would anyone in their right mind wish to work for an airline bent on destabilising their own employees - keeping them constantly off balance with threats of further restructuring? This is madness! There are only two good ways to restructure:

You either restructure "quick and dirty", redundancies, etc. over in one day, promise your staff that this is the last change you are making for many years, so that they can get on with the business of serving your customers.

Or you do it "slow and clean", announce that changes will be made according to a schedule, maximise consultation and negotiation, set up a generous voluntary redundancy scheme with clearcut rules and wave people tearfully but fondly goodbye.

The third alternative - "slow and dirty", constant threats about the need to change, constant threats about outsourcing, job cuts and so on. decisions made in secret with zero consulatation, simply maximises the pain and guarantess that your customers aren't going to get a good deal because the staff are too busy worrying about their own futures.

It's the Board and senior management who should be living with insecurity, not the poor CC, engineers and pilots.

Part of the reason senior management gets paid so much is that you think about the business 24/7 and lose sleep sometimes over how you are going to achieve your goals. It's not a good idea if your employees are losing sleep over their employment - especially pilots.
