Funnily enough, I had a quick and very rough look at this last night. Now, I know that this shows a Great Circle route, which was probably not quite the exact route, I know that the scale is small, and I know that the site may not be wholly accurate - but
this image suggested that they might never have been much more than 60 minutes away from a diversion airfield, if at all.
