Question Costs after the course

There's a good chance that this won't get seen by the 'right' people, but it's worth asking.

I'm looking for advice from those who have gone through the AQC/Wings ATP scheme on how much it all cost them, in total? Specifically, how much of your own money did you have to pump into supporting yourselves while training at the airline?

CTC state that, during the TR, pilots "do not receive a salary but, subject to airline agreement, CTC will pay a subsistence allowance". I've heard figures of £1,000 pcm quoted but is it accurate? Moreover is that for everybody at every client airline or does it vary?

The reason I ask is because I have just enough money to pay for the course, but no more. I'd be gutted to get through the AQC only to get placed with an airline and find I couldn't afford to live near Gatwick/Luton/Manchester etc for eight months. Many people wouldn't flinch but it's a question the individual, especially those already cursed with monthly outgoings.

PM or email me at [email protected] if discretion is preferred.
