I guess it's just ThomsonFly's week for the idiot mob having a go.
Anyway,a Captain who does 17 days off working in a month period would gross that easily. If he was a senior trainer, even more likely. Because of the way the allowances etc are done, this could have been 17 days effectively over 7 odd weeks. Quite possible at the moment because of a very high training load.
Also, it takes time for promotions and incremental pay to catch up on occasion. As a Second Officer a while back I grossed £9k one month due all the back pay etc. I had lots of friends of friends that month, especially down the pub and Mrs Yeoman was well chuffed too.
