Oli EZ, just for your information, the PA exercise is a test of character. It is to see how you perform in front of a group. You would not believe how many crew find it difficult to string together an adlibbed PA when standing in front of 156 passengers.
And your remark saying 'get recruits thorugh as quick as humanely possible... saving money all the way no doubt....' is way out of line. easyJet now have a state of the art training facility and the training received is second to none. 4 weeks training is more than what some airlines give their crew, especially as some airlines will be training crews on several different aircraft types. You only have to worry about the Airbus 319.
With regards to the hotel, well yes that is a bit sh1te to say the least - but you are working for a low cost airline and can not expect to have luxury accommodation during training. Assuming you pass your 4 weeks training, check flights and probationary period and make it to your annual recurrent training, you will be staying in a much nicer hotel, so you have that to look forward to.
Also, might I recommend that you don't go slagging off the company just yet because 1) it will be easy to work out who you are, assuming your name is Oli and you have your second exam tomorrow!!!! and 2) you are not yet out online working for easyJet. You should leave it a couple of months before you go forming an opinion on the company, because it is not as bad as some people make out.
Now good luck to you with the rest of your exams
