Balpa has not let them do it in the past as you suggest. The fence-sitters with deep pockets who refused to join in let it happen. The people that did nothing let it happen. Things are quite different now.
Furthermore, I don't necessarily think that this season will pass just the same as before. That is not what I said. I merely pointed out that the same thing has been said many years over on this and other sites. Remember Carmen rostering when a particular flight made headlines on News at Ten after the pax staged a sit-in when the crew went out of hours!!!
What happens this year will be totally dependent on the resolve of the the pilot membership of Balpa and the attitude of the company if/when matters come to a head.
With any luck, heads will roll and we can then all play football with them as a prelude to the World Cup!
