Just back from a trip to Cape Town.
We hired an R44 from Aeronautical Training Solutions who have an operation right next to Thunder City at Cape Town International.
Without an SA licence we needed an instructor with us and Danie Barnard was our man in the left hand seat for the morning.
Flying around the Cape, especially for a newbie like me, was stunning. We also landed at one of the best restaurants in the Cape - L'Haute Cabriere - in the hills of Frendshoek. Check

The R44 was fairly new, beautifuly presented and with an extensive IFR-training fit.
Cost inclusive of their part-time instructor Danie Barnard - terrific guy - was 3500 Rand per Datcon hour ( on the R44 the Datcon hour meter only works when the collective lever is raised).
A very impressive, friendly and professional operation. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
