Train is the best way into town. About 15 mins or 20 mins depending on time of day and if it's a stopper or direct. Cost about £3 return.

MAPLC is scrapping 115 jobs and creating 76 new ones. While this means 39 net redundancies (on good ££ terms if you've been there a while) the rumour is that management want more than 39 to go, as they will want to fill as many as possible of the 76 with fresh new outside people, not from the pool of displaced staff.
Many of the new jobs will be at lower wages. None of the senior managers who survive unscathed despite being the architects of the last (discredited) restructure will lose pay, especially Muirhead, Burns et al. Reflect on that, with a calm and peaceful mind of course.
You thought the last restructure was ruthless? This one will clear all the legacy staff and replace them all with keen underpaid youngsters who'll do anything for anyone. Bye bye loyalty, experience etc.
