On a CRM type note, I can't help thinking that it's all too easy to take unnecessary risks on ferry flights (not for one moment suggesting that these chaps did - let's wait for the report). You can get too relaxed because there are no passengers and do silly things that you would otherwise never consider.
Guilty as charged on at least one occasion - in retrospect I consider myself fortunate to have got away with it on that trip.
