I can concur with CaptainGSR. I did the AA internship summer 1998. I was assigned Eagle flight ops. We had the boeing tour in SEA, another AA 757/767 mtx tour at Alliance airport in Ft.Worth, Int'l groundschool and attended AA Captain Duties & Responsibilities class. I got to fly the Eagle sims only....AA was starting their hiring of 100 a month then and it was too busy to get into the sims there. I did get a job after grad with Eagle because of the contacts I had made there. These days, any AA intern is given the opportunity to interview at Eagle with around 500 total, 100 ME.
