All in all the Hawiian Islands are a great place & worth the effort.
It is walkable, out the TBIT, turn right, [go up a flight of stairs, departures level is more pleasant than arrivals level] second terminal along is United! Will be far quicker than trying to catch the inter terminal shuttle buses.

As for the UA economy section, yes the front half does have more pitch, tpyically 35-36". This is called 'Economy Plus' and is not as randomly allocated as it once was.
