Some years ago, in RAFG, before the BFT was brought in, a new ambitious junior pilot jockstrapper arrived on the squadron. He soon started sniping at some of the more mature "combat eating and drinking ready" SH aircrew.
He took it upon himself to lobby the Boss to make an annual fitness test mandatory. He even went to the trouble of making up a poster, emblazoned with the words (in bold letters):
"Are YOU fit to fight?"
He stuck the poster up in the Ops room, making himself Flight Lieutenant Not Very Popular At All.
The following Saturday, he broke his shoulder in a rugger game and ended up in hospital.
Very shortly afterwards, he received a "Get Well Soon" card, signed by all the squadron aircrew.
The card was made from his
"Are YOU fit to fight?" poster.
