Total Loss vs "Minor Landing Incident"

Hmmm, interesting divergence in the accounts of what happened. "Total loss", or just "minor landing incident"?

Bangalore airport resumes operation

Bangalore,DHNS:

The Bangalore airport which was shut down Saturday morning resumed operations in the afternoon.

Early this morning, an Air Deccan flight DN-108- Coimbatore-Bangalore aircraft had a minor landing incident.

The flight took off from Coimbatore Airport and landed at in Bangalore airport at 10.17 a.m, carrying 40 passengers and four crew members, all of whom are safe.


On landing, there appeared to be a landing gear problem and the aircraft came to a stop a few yards off the runway. The airport was shut down for a few hours causing disruption the schedule of flights operating out of the Bangalore airport.

However, the situation is under control and the airport has become operational, according to sources.
