Kirknewton is tar(looks worse than it is,if in doubt stick to North side). In Pooleys pullout page for Edinburgh you can see location but its not in the latest Pooleys. If you know anyone who has one from a couple of years ago it is definately in there. Initial contact is with Edinburgh Approach on 121.2.
There is gliding at the weekends but its not that busy.
