I flew the Herk for SAT from 1987-1990. Flew a lot of Africa in Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. Missed out on the Lokichogio Bass Rodeo as I went to work for FedEx about the time it was cranking up. Also flew a lot of the MAC flying to the Caribbean, Central America, Thule AB, etc. It was such a great group. The British mechs really took care of us over in Africa. Those guys did know how to throw a party.
Since I left SAT life has been very good. A regular flying schedule, great pay and benifits. Nowhere near as exciting, however. And you can't beat the Herk. Greatest airplane ever built.
