Its moving a bit off topic but something always worth looking at is the senior management pay packages....wind the clock back a few years and ask yourself
1. what the directors were earning and
2. how many members of senior management were earning as much or more than a Capt's salary.
Compare that to today....
the current salaries for the directors are certainly a lot higher (quick example...from Annual Reports....old finance director left on £166k pa, new finance director on £250k pa...)
in the early days, only a handful of people earned in excess of a Capts salary (cicra 50k in 1998), now.... can't put a number on it but have a look at the 40 members of the senior management group....
and what about interim managers on £1200 a day (yes, that is one thousand two hundred pounds per day)....
If there's no money left in the pot, its because its been p*ssed away!
