No need to sound so outraged! There will be a reason. Not really very familiar with MAN since the new runway came along, but 24R has a steep upslope for a short distance to a peak at the touchdown point, then a long steepening downslope. I don't think I remember a runway anywhere with such a short horizon from the flight deck of a 737 at the threshold! Taking off on 06L must be quite steep upwards. A look at the SIA website shows MAN-SIN is a long one. So, really heavy, taking off uphill.......I guess 06R is a better option?
