I think the point made by sukigirl is a valid one: flying Ryanair is not always the cheapest option.

I made this point early in the Ryanair thread on R&N. If you book your journey late and close to the departure time, you may end up paying as much as the full-service carriers. Also, if you have to change your details or departure date in any way, it will cost you mega bucks.
