I telephoned the UK CAA about this very same question about a 2 weeks ago. I am in the same boat with wanting to transfer a ICAO 737 rating, but no time on the real type. As the LASOR states, its sufficient training to pass the final check in this instance.
So think of it this way, you would most likely do a LPC with any airline you get employed with, and the bit of paper signing you off on that is all the CAA want to see to now put the rating on your licence in our case.
