A mate is a Ryanair captain and he cannot take people onto the flightdeck unless they are travelling on his company issued standby ticket and he knows them (which he will of course if he has given his dad or his mum a free trip).
I'm suprised at Air France I thought all West European/USA/'free world'
had a strict policy
Having said that, next time I'll bring my PPL!!
It is all up to the Capt. if he knows the person
however in some airlines it is not allowed. with my copmany I have to be in full uniform, even if i want to travel with a tickt, and the flt was full. but as I said it is up to the commander. 99% of the time a travel as a passenjer i end up in the jump seat coz I can't stay away ! it is a habet
even if had a nice first calss seat and the flt was 8 hrs i prefare staying in the cockpit.....
