I think that this one is the real problem. PPL pilot normally have no problems with normal operations. But if you ask them something more they have big problems. Checking a pilot with a lot of experience (hundred of hour with glider towing) In short final I asked him to go around and the first thing he did was to retract flaps from landing to zero
