BACON PENSION
I've never been so happy to be away from an airline, wish I'd done it earlier, but that's the way it is. However, having read all the news and views on BA Pensions and possible strikes, etc etc, I just wonder what the BALPA and other views are on the BACON pension? I have left my pension frozen with them, mainly because the peanlties for withdrawing it are too horrendous. It has a peanuts deficit in BA terms, but the Company are showing no signs (as usual) of doing anything at all.
If they run true to form, I guess the next thing will be the announcement it's closed, and tough luck.
I think BALPA should be laying down the law the same way they are with Mainline - or are they just an organisation for BA line guys? I'd be interested to hear views, as long as they don't degenerate into a management friendly slagging match ....
What about the BACON pension then - it affects an awful lot of people!
Now, back to pre-study for my Emb 195 course!
