For JAA, you can log time as PIC as long as you fly with a TRI and your aviation authority has approved that TRI. For CAA if the aircraft (G) and the TRI are CAA I believe you do not need the authorization but is saffer to confirm. For JAA you mark PIC U/S (PICUS). JAA does not recognize P1.
