If you dof enough to put a computer in your hold bags on any airline in the world you must maar pay the cost. Next time you in Nairobbery pay $200 at the dutty free and get a flight bag that has space for the laptop. Get one that has wheels then you can even drag it to the toilet. The way you sound you probably put the float money in the hold as well.
In future do not blame airlines for your own stupidity.
