Minimum Rests...

exmanpoweraus

Yes all airlines have different awards. The smaller airlines' awards are a little less fortunate I'm told. But at NJS/QantasLink its minimum 12 hours between shifts, every shift over 8 hours is minumum 15 hours rest. Every over night is minumum 10 hours rest. Whenever we have just the one day off at once we need a minimum of 34 hours rest between shifts. 10 days a month off too. We also have a rest or paxing sector whenever a shift goes up to 12 hours but we don't have to continue past 12 hours (delays etc...) and are rostered shifts maximum to 10.30 hours.
If we're more than one minute out, we can call Operations (over East) and refuse our next shift, and be put on a later one. It makes it easier that we don't see our Operations staff!
Qantas and Virgin Blue should be similar. I think Virgin Blue receive a minimum 15 hours rest between any worked shift.
