The Terminal was never going to be a gracious gift from the DAA. Seamus Brennan annonced that CAA &SAA would be debt free, which is fair enongh... but that effectively means that the DAA still own the terminal and the CAA would be expected to pay an exorbadent rent on it... this would be money down the pan... straight into the DAAs coffers. However by forking over the €80 million CAA will actually own at least half of it and have secure assets borrow against in the future. As far as I know the SAA dosent actually own the terminal at SNN and leases it from Aer Rianta.

More to the point though is the severe lack of space at ORK at the moment. The place is very cramped and more stands are needed urgently. I feel that the CAA has been very distracted by the whole terminal/debt issue and has lost the ploy somewhat withe regards to new routes/airline bases, etc...

P.S. Does anyone know anything about the CSA A321 operating to Verona today, is this a regular charter thing, or just a once off?

Cheers
