Yes rule 5 has been revised. It is now 1000' over a built up area instead of 1500'.
As an instructor I can recommend that the best approach is to read the background material (preferably Pratt

, but Thom if you are feeling the need for a dry read

). Then once you have done that, do the questions in the book (relating to each section/subject) - and if you get any wrong - revist the sections you screwed up.
Then *and only then* get the confuser out and work your way through ALL the questions for the exam you want to take.
