And if you do tell the instructor that you want this to be a trial
lesson then you can count the time in the log book that you will then go on and buy for your PPL training.
Unless there are limiting factors such as distance or controlled airspace or something else there shouldn't be any reason why you still couldn't take a photo of where you live *and* still have a lesson.
