As a low-time pilot with the company, I found the flying stressful. I can't put my finger on any particular thing the company had done that was unsafe. My honest feeling is that it's simply a dangerous type of flying. IFR flight into mountainous airports at night, with relatively low-time pilots and 14-hour days could spell disaster for virtually any airline. And I don't consider the MU an easy machine to handle, either.
The rumour I heard was that they made a 20-minute stop at Terrace to pick up freight, and there was freezing rain at the airport. Not sure if they would have de-iced or not.
