True - until they get to 60, then you are allowing them the extra 5 years that you have already negotiated. If they are lucky enough to have joined the right company that has not gone out of business,gives them a good pension and the terrorists have not had a succesful attack that puts them out of a job or keeps them in the RH seat anyway they can then
choose to retire early if that suits them. I think the extra time flying should well compensate for a liitle longer in the RH seat - especially if they took it up for the right reason - i.e. that they enjoy flying!
