The modification was carried out in 1995. It was fully signed off by the A&P Engineer in accordance with the STC. The trouble is that the signed copy of the STC has been lost, and the FAA do not know of the engine upgrade. On the FAA site if shows the aircraft with a 520 fitted but it actually has 550.
The A&P guy who looked at the aircraft for the annual said that we need to purchase the STC form the owner and apply to the FAA with a 337, but why do we need to do that? Can we not just use the logbook entry?
