Standards are quite relative. Depends a bit on where you are from and what your expectations are. There is quite a large variation in standards because the company is having a tough time finding places for new employees. You could be in a marvelous place or you could be in a !!!! hole. It is all a fluke.
The place I am in with my family is only just good enough in our opinion. There is not enough room, the landlord did not provide any landscaping, this had to be paid by us. It is poorly constructed. The electrical system is not properly grounded - we get a little "buzz" from the dishwasher and the microwave when we turn them on... the walls are cracking, the plumbing is 'pretend' (not properly executed) and all in all it is living up to the Dubai standard of: "it only has to look good, it doesn't have to really work".
Consider your new oppotunity very carefully.
