To get a "special" day off you need to either get a trip line which has the day off you want (unlikely but not impossible if you are a newbie), or get a blindline and then plead with your mates to swop or with the schedulers for the day off (but they will never guarantee anything). Failing that you can plead with "the management" ................who
may agree to giving you the time off........................and then will ring you to draft you on that special day
