Sorry guys but democracy has been at work and this time you didn't get across the line. I suspect that the pragmatists and realists of our association realised that any victory we may have had with a no vote would be a Pyrrhic victory. Pay at least $1000 each to contest it (that's between 1 and 1.5 % for most of us) and how much do you think we would have got? And in doing so forego ANY payrise for up to 2 years. Great victory.

Yes, it was frustrating that AsA were so bloody-minded when it came to breaks, FPC fix, etc but if you take the time to study CIVILAIR's campaigns over many years, the company will always lump the palatable and the unpalatable into one basket and say take it or leave it. If you decide to leave it, you have to weigh up ALL of the consequences. Clearly, for most of us, it wasn't worth it.

Next time, the make up of the membership will have changed and you will probably get your desired result.

Read your history and be careful what you wish for.
