At least you may have a choice over pants or skirt. At Australian Airlines our ladies have no choice, it's pants only, regardless of your size or preference. Skirts have never been an option even though there has been a lot of discussion about it. The new uniform is to be worm from Xmas Day and again, no skirts. The other stupid policy we have is no short sleaves for the guys. We are only issued with long sleaves as apparently Japanese pax are offended by crew in short sleaves (thats the excuse from the company). So we have the girls in long pants and guys in long sleaved shirts and do you know where we are based, in Cairns, Australia, the tropical north where it reaches over 35C with over 90% humidity. Go figure. We also have a fleece lined jacket. The new uniform is not much better. We are based in the tropics, surely a uniform reflecting this would be a more suitable option?
