This might help its from JAR_FCL 3

[Established c]hronic inflammatory bowel disease ([Crohn’s Disease], ulcerative colitis[ ]) is
disqualifying. [In cases of ulcerative colitis ] certification (Class 1 and 2) [ ] may be considered by the AMS if
there is full remission [(minimum of one year)] and[, for Class 1, minimum] medication [only] is [required].
[Systemic steroids are not acceptable. In cases of Crohn’s disease, certification (Class 1 and Class 2) may be
considered by the AMS if there is full remission (minimum of one year, without medication) and, for Class 1,
disease was minimal and has completely excised surgically, and medication is not required. [A] Class 1 ‘OML’
[ ] or [ ] Class 2 ‘OSL’[ ] restriction may be appropriate.
4 Abdominal surgery is disqualifying for a minimum of three months. The AMS may consider earlier
recertification if recovery is complete, the applicant is asymptomatic and there is a minimal risk of secondary
complication or recurrence.

So saying I think JAR-FCL is out of touch with modern medical thinking on this, but wy is that a surprise
