DJ Velocity ad

I saw DJ's new Velocity ad on TV last week which I thought was p!ss poor to say the least.

It shows a bloke reading what DJ want you to think is his QF frequent flyer statement saying to his wife "we've finally got enough points to fly to....." before clutching his chest and dropping dead. She then repeats the scenario and drops dead herself. You get the picture - you're soooooo old if not dead by the time you get to redeem any f/flyer points from that evil Skippy.

If that's the best that DJ can come up with it's a pretty sad state of affairs.

Reminds me of a 1993 federal election campaign (if you could call it that) where a certain politcal party didn't say vote for us because we can do this or these are our policies, but vote for us because you don't like what Brand X has to offer.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but taking into consideration that more people in Australia die of heart disease than anything else I would imagine that many thousands of Australians who have lost a loved one to a heart attack or had a loved one in a coronary care unit at some time will find this ad insensitive if not offensive.

Grow up Virgin, if you had a decent TV commercial outlining the benefits of your program (assuming there are some) you might receive more support from the public for not slagging off at your opponents.

At the very least give your advertising agency the boot or tell Bratt to stop making his own commercials!
