Options to be considered ?
Hi Folks,
need some advice:
Would you like to have a HF for an operation that mainly flies within Central Europe, but plans are to fly to Nigeria about 4 times a year and about 4 times to Kasachstan.... A/C will be something like an Excel, I was asked to work out specs.
What about an second ADF, especially for the easterly route ?
Somebocdy here with a Satphone on his aircraft ? (Iridium or the like) Would like know about costs, quality of transmission, reliability etc...
A second FMS or at least GPS is already on the list, any further comments/recommendations?
And Excel/XLS drivers, do you think the Range/fuel burn figures in the Flight planning Guide are accurate ? (or the other way round: can one really fly 1800nm with 3 pax in an XLS with a 100 nm alternate?)
