Yup the exchange rate was if I recall at the high end of $1.20 now under 50c, but that hasn't slowed, in fact overall it's increased, the purchase of imported motor cars.??

It hasn't stopped the purchase of all manner of other imported goods either.

Nah, the industry has been using investors and finance industries money to subsidise their patrons flying for too long.

As far as economics are concerned vis a vis old light twins, does that mean oyu would be happy to be driven around in an 400,000 mile FJ Holden with a new Repco "Short" recon in it, new upholstery and paint.
I seem to recall that the windscreen heater was an addon toaster element and aircon was adjustng the flipper windows at the side and opening the funny little cowl flap thingy in front of the windscreen

People will pay, but if you've spent several decades training them not to, and then perpetuate the folly then you're right.

I don't supose you've been to Cuba lately?
