I have limited experience of Lancaster airport having only done a few hours flying a Bell 47 around the local area and general handling on the airfield, but I agree with LtN's comments. It struck me as a good location for training.
Lancaster itself isn't the most attractive of American cities but Lancaster County is very pleasant and, being in the heart of Amish country, very interesting. There can't be many places in the Western world where you can still see people riding around in buggies and ploughing fields with mules.

Philadelphia is an easy 1.5 hrs drive away.
New York and Washington are both close enough for weekend visits.
