When in the printer panel click
View from the menu bar and select
large icons
You should get a series of icons - one will have a tick in it, in your case this will be the
Generic/Text only 'printer'. It will look something similar to:
Right-click on the printer icon you wish to use and select
set as default printer - the tick should then move accordingly and your problem will be resolved.
Instructions may vary slightly depending on the operating system in use (the above works for Windows 2000).
