Ohboy
I started out about 12 years ago and after the first company went broke I made my way up north. There were many times I thought I had a bad deal. It was worse than all my peers. I was getting old too! I kept choosing one path only to find another door closed with seniority in the subsiduaries. Too old for Cx, etc. etc.
BUT 
Eventually the persistance paid off, I kept going even when my friends thought I was nuts and now I'm lucky enough to be in the LHS of a 737. It only takes one moment to be in the right place at the right time and only your persistence will see you there.
