Sinala, I have been meaning to ask you lot about 'Air Babylon'.
My grandfather gave me an old book written by an early stewardess called 'Head In the Clouds' - Muriel Hanning-Lee.
More 'old-school', but she was not only FA but secretary, supply orderer, mechanic organiser when something broke down-route...
She also had some funny moments for example a snake getting loose on an overwater flight and hearing odd noises from the cockpit....!
Sadly Ms Hanning-Lee died in a crash shortly before her book was published but it gave a great insight into how the girls coped in the early days
(IIRC she was on Flying Boats etc... 30's and 40's I think)
