When their marketing whiz kid, a lady named Caroline Green, convinced O'Leary to release money for an upgraded telephone booking system she didn't tell him that the system she chose had a built-in online booking engine. She hid that because O'Leary had adamantly rejected all attempts to get him to set up website. He proudly boasted that he didn't even own a computer!
Later when it took off (behind his back) and became an almost overnight success - he told the media it was his best idea and the real reason Ryanair was succesful!
For months he also rejected Conor McCarthys pleas to introduce 30 minute turnarounds. When Tony Ryan finally intervened and told him to let McCarthy try it he sneered at McCarthy that he'd fire him when it inevitably failed.
