Sorry to quibble WWW, but if you think that by using the term 'a mere millionaire' I meant Ryan was on his uppers, you missed the point. The flotation failure was a disaster for him in other ways - he lost control of a company he had built up over years through hard graft and risk taking. He also lost face in the international business community.
And yet he came back and did it again.
This is another aspect of FR that too many miss. O'Leary is the public face of the company, but Tony Ryan is the real business genius behind it. O'Leary is just a walking publicity stunt on Ryans behalf. It keeps the limelight off him, which he seems to prefer.
