Yes, airlines in India are paying fairly well, even to junior pilots. Certainly well above the average salaries earned by the rest of the work-force.

You need to obtain your Indian Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) for which you will have to fly a minimum of 200 flying hours. The 200 hours comprise of a combination of Dual flights (training with an instructor) and Solo flights (flying alone, by yourself).
