Good news indeed.
From an Exeter perspective, FLYbe's new services have transformed the place. During August of 2005 Exeter handled just over 100k passengers, not so many years ago that would have been nearer the annual total!
As for the post about the Manchester route being unsustainable alongside the Liverpool service, remember that low cost operators are competing directly with the train. On this basis, why shouldn't this route succeed?
Lastly, Air South West happily started Dublin services out of Plymouth in direct competition with Flybe's EXT-DUB route & why shouldn't they? ASW are hardly in a position to start bleating about EXT-MAN!
